We Do Like To Beer Beside The Seaside

All the while we’ve been trying, and eventually succeeding in buying the Grand Union group with its six amazing pubs, we’ve been working on a much more complex, challenging and ultimately way cooler deal.

It involves great beer, incredible music, new and old friends and a seaside town that is getting off its knees to become one of the most beguiling places in these British Isles.

So I am proud to announce that The Draft House is brewing the official beer – with Moshi Moshi Records – for the By The Sea Festival in Margate. That’s myself and Mr Michael McClatchey (above) – he’s one of the co-founders of the Moshi Moshi label and a stand-up Thanet bloke.

We brewed the beer with the Moshi crew and a few waifs and strays (including Al, AKA The Draft House Man) down at Eddie Gadd’s Ramsgate Brewery just down the road from Margate. For those who don’t know Eddie, he is one of the great men and a damned talented brewer to boot.

The beer is called – you guessed it – By The Sea Festival Pale Ale– and is available all summer long at a Draft House near you. It’s a quite ridiculously thirst-slaking golden pale ale, served in 330ml can for your delectation.

And you can get a chance to win tickets to By The Sea (29-30 Sept) by buying five cans. And you get a 6th free. I mean, what is 100% not to like about that? All info is in site and (sorry) Ts & Cs are here.

Mum’s The Word

Mum’s don’t just want to drink Prosecco. Some of them love beer. I’d say more should try it, but that just me.

Either way, all Mum’s get a beer on us this Mother’s Day. Click here to book.

PS keep it between us but we do actually sell Prosecco. And great wine. And a glass of either is a valid alternative on this ‘offer’.

The Return of The Six

The Six Burger Returneth

With an ingredient from every country in the Six Nations, this is the only burger to eat during the rugby tournament. It has crispy Italian pancetta, Welsh Hafod cheese, Scottish beef, an Irish boxty potato cake, a French brioche bun and English mustard. Grab one while you can before they disappear.

Wacth the Six Nations at Draft House

It’s that magical time of the year when January disappears up it’s own righteousness and the world’s greatest rugby tournament begins. That means we can get down to the serious business of rucking, mauling and drinking fine ale. And thank the Lord for that.

And when it comes to ales, there are none finer than those brewed by our long standing buddy Duncan Sambrook behind Draft House Westbridge. The Draft House was born at the same time as Sambrook’s ten years ago and we’re celebrating that fact with the revival of our biggest selling ever cask ale:The Hoppy Hooker.

This astoundingly refreshing pale ale was first brewed for the Rugby World Cup in 2015 and we sold literally thousands of pints during the tournament.

And for every five pints you drink, you get one on us. Just collect a stamp card at the bar.

The Draft House is the best place to watch the Six Nations.
