Beer is Bonzer at Draft House
After years of trying, we think we may have found the Solution for January.
All the way over on the other side of the world, there is a magical land known as Australia. Down under in January it is warm and sunny and the month is spent on the beach, drinking great beer and building up to Australia Day.
Here at The Draft House we thought importing a little Australian atmosphere – not to mention awesome beer & tucker – might allow a ray of sunshine and hope to penetrate the winter gloom of Britain.
So throughout January we’ll be celebrating all things beery and foodie from Oz. We’ll be bringing you beers from Stone & Wood, Nomad, Mornington Peninsular, Pirate Life and the Big Shed Brewing Company. Some of these phenomenal brews have never been seen before in the UK.
To make it easier to sample as many as possible we will be offering all Aussie draft beers at £3 for a Schooner (that’s Aussie for a 2/3 pint) between 5-7pm every day in January.
For those who have worked up an appetite trekking across the outback (or sales shopping on Oxford Street) we’re also adding Australian-inspired dishes to the Menu.
To kick things off there’s the Aussie Lot Burger (basically a Hamburger with EVERYTHING!).
And then there is the Parmy. We have to confess this was a new one for us. We knew about the Aussie passion for small pies and eggs on burgers – but who knew that the Chicken Parmigiana (known locally as ‘Parmy’) was a national obsession? This is a breaded chicken breast topped with tomato sauce, ham and melted cheese. YUM. For the veggies we’re including an Egg Plant version as well. DOUBLE-YUM.
There will also be an exciting events programme throughout January including barbecues, Aussie Happy Hours, Bogan Shouts, themed pub quizzes and of course the Australia Day celebrations. See our events page for full details.
Strewth and Crikey! See you at the bar with a Cold One!
